Jewel Staite was born in White Rock, BC, and raised in Vancouver, and has made a living pretending to be other people. If Sci Fi is your jam (Firefly, Stargate: Atlantis), then that’s probably where you know her from. Other popular works include The LA Complex, The Killing, The Magicians, and Quantum Leap. She currently plays a lawyer on the CW’s Family Law, but cannot legally represent you in real life.
Jewel’s professional career may be in acting, but one of her major passions is food: cooking and entertaining, searching for great recipes, finding the best restaurants, and traveling all over the world to satiate her never-quite-satiated appetite.
She’s also the wife to Tea Runners CEO Charlie Ritchie, and the proud mother to a precocious 8 year old boy who looks like his dad and behaves like his mom. Honestly, it’s like arguing into a mirror.
She also has three cats and a dog, and will not admit to which one she loves the most.
Jewel lives with her family in the lower mainland of British Columbia, the most beautiful place in the world. But she’s a little biased.
